University of Engineering & Technology, Mardan and Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU), located in Xi'an, China, have joined forces to empower the youth of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The two universities plan to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the near future, recognizing the importance of investing in the youth, who represent the future of the province. During the ceremony, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Sadiqullah of UET Mardan welcomed the guests and highlighted the significance of the event. Mr. Li Ziwei, Deputy Director of the Office of International Cooperation at NPU, presented an overview of NPU and the expertise and dedication of its faculty, who will collaborate with UET Mardan to ensure the success of the partnership.The honorable, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Sadiqullah also mentioned in his speech that UET Mardan is the second public sector engineering university in the province, situated in Mardan, strategically located on the CPEC route, and close to the Rashakai industrial zone.

The partnership between NPU and UET Mardan will benefit both countries by facilitating student and faculty exchange programs, scholarships, and the establishment of joint research labs and centers of excellence was also discussed in detail.The ceremony was attended by various dignitaries, including the Dean of Faculty of Engineering & Computing, Prof. Dr. Imran Khan, the Registrar, Dr. Muhammad Alam, the Director of P & D, Engr. Sajjad Ali, Dr. Murtaza Ali, Treasurer, Dr. Sajjad Director Academics, as well as faculty and students of UET Mardan. During the event, a video showcasing the activities at NPU was played, which was followed by a Q&A session between Mr. Li Ziwei, Ms. Liu Lu (Project Officer, International College, NPU), and the students of UET Mardan. The ceremony concluded with a group photo outside the Academic Block and a tree plantation event. At the end, the Chief Guest and Guest of Honor were presented with cultural souvenirs in memory of Pakistan-China Friendship.
