Inauguration of Ayesha Girls Hostel at University of Engineering & Technology Mardan
The Graduation Ceremony of One hundred and ten students National Freelance Training Programme and Inauguration of Ayesha Girls Hostel at University of Engineering & Technology Mardan held on 17th June 2022.
Chairperson and Executive Director of Higher Education Commission Dr. Shaista Sohail and Mr. Zahir Shah Toru, Member of the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pukhtunkhwa graced the Graduation Ceremony as the chief guest. Addressing the graduation ceremony after the inauguration of Girls Hostel, the speakers appreciated the performance of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shahid Khattak and said that Mardan is the second largest district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the start of the Department of Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering are real accomplishments in UET Mardan. The speaker paid tribute to Prof. Dr. Shahid Khattak for setting up the state-of-the-art labs in University and completing a mega project worth Rs. 1.37 billion.
Dr. Shaista Sohail, Chairperson, HEC, further emphasized that research alone would not do the job. Addressing the students, MPA Zahir Shah Toru said that students in universities should not only pursue degrees but also research new projects keeping in view the existing challenges such as how to solve other sources of energy, energy crisis, and how to expand industries.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shahid Khattak briefed the distinguished guests about the new project worth Rs. 3 billion in the University and presented shields to distinguished guests and certificates to UETM NFTP graduate students on behalf of the University.
