Outcome Based Education (OBE) Workshop
A one day workshop on Outcome Based Education was delivered on Jun 19, 2019, in the Seminar Hall of University of Engineering and Technology Mardan. The main objective of the seminar workshop was to educate the teaching faculty of UET, Mardan on the OBE. Since, Pakistan has become a signatory body with Washington Accord, which is an accrediting engineering degree programme, so knowledge about OBE has now become lifeblood for Engineering Teaching.
The OBE would align the engineering education with the current trend of the market and will bring strong weightage to the engineering degree. Moreover, this evaluation methodology will also help in producing well rounded engineers for the global market and further streamline the education system.
The workshop was delivered by a renowned name of the academia, Dr. Zahid Haleem, Dean, Faculty of Computer Sciences and Engineering, Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technooogy, Swabi. His gracious presence made a drastic change in the contextual understanding of the teaching faculty especially about the concepts, methodologies and strategies of OBE which included complex terms like PEO, PLO, CLO, TOL and HOT etc. Dr. Zahid filled umpteen information gaps and made his best effort to impart his knowledge, and generously shared his experience with the attendees.
It was a great experience for all the attendees to know and learn from the experiences and wisdom of Dr. Zahid Haleem. He very professionally addressed the questions and problems and perfectly delivered his objective of the workshop.
