OBE Workshop at UET Mardan

A one day workshop on Outcome Based Education (OBE) was conducted on Jan 30, 2020, in the Seminar Hall of University of Engineering and Technology Mardan. The main objective of the workshop was to fill up the empty gaps between understanding and implementing OBE. The beneficiaries included all the teaching faculty of UET, Mardan. It is worth mentioning that UET Mardan has achieved Level II accreditation and is producing its current batch of Electrical Engineering Program in compliance with Washington Accord. For the same fact, stating Pakistan has become a signatory body with Washington Accord, which is an accrediting engineering degree programme, so knowledge about OBE has now become lifeblood for Engineering Teaching.
The training workshop was conducted in a very pleasant environment by a renowned academician, Dr. Shaukat Ali Khan, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Computing, Abasyn University Peshawar. His gracious presence made a drastic constructive impact in the contextual understanding of the teaching faculty especially about the concepts, methodologies and strategies of OBE. Dr. Naveed Mufti, Director QEC; in collaboration with the Directorate of Media arranged this workshop.
It was a great experience for all the attendees to know and learn from the experiences and wisdom of the honourable guest, while getting a live feedback and guidance on the current challenges and acuteness as faced by the teaching faculty. Shield was presented to the guest of honour by Dr. Sadaqat Jan, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Computing whereas certificates were distributed amongst the attendees and organizing staff.
